Pico, the youngest island in the Azorean archipelago with a history dating back 300,000 years, has a fascinating story to share. Along with the highest point in Portugal, the Pico mountain volcano, the island boasts stunning pastures, diverse geological formations, and natural lakes, which all contribute to its unique landscape.
We will set off to explore the central plateau of the island on a jeep drive at an average altitude of 850 meters, offering a serene and immersive nature experience. Throughout the journey, we'll have the opportunity to delve into the island's geology, fauna, and flora, enriching your understanding of Pico's fascinating ecosystem. Witness the island's relatively recent eruptive capacity as we enter a lava tube, showcasing the dynamic geological forces at play.

Transfer: Pick-ups are available and included from Madalena to Lajes do Pico Villages along the south coast. For pick-ups from other areas, there is an additional fee of 30€.
